This area of north central Washington was originally part of the Colville Indian Reservation but due to the discovery of gold and silver in the mid 1800's was opened up to white settelment in 1886. This school house was built in the late 1800's or early 1900's and is located off of HWY 20 just south west of Oknogan, Washington.

Door to our old pump house that was used from the 1940s through 1960s to supply water to the three cabins on Sunshine Beach outside of Vaughn Bay, Washington. The hand dug well and old pump would give the modern health department nightmares today--but never fear the pump was abandonded by the last cabin in the mid 1990s.
